I heard a worker dropped his otterbox equiped phone from a crane. It landed face down on a rock and was run over by a hilo. The psi of the rock when ran over caused screen to crack but it still funtioned normally. I bought my otterbox that night. It turned my sleek thin lightwieght galaxy tab into a brick. Its 3x thicker & 3x heavier. But it takes this brutal enviorment with ease. Does not cover mic & speakers and u have to disassemble it to get to sd & sim cards. Rear camera not obstructed at all. Touch screen still works great through the film. I even tried a coworker's tablet in there that he already had a non-glare screen protector on and touch screen still worked through 2 films. Tablet is a little difficult to get out but that is the whole purpose. If it popped out when you dropped it then the case wouldn't be much good would it? Love the cover to put on when we throw it in a bag too. Stand seems a little dinky but we are not using that function so no worries there. Very hard to pull the stand out initially. Once you do it a couple times it pops out fine. Otterbox is the way to go for sure.
