For $10, if I didn't like it, I wouldn't have too much buyer's remorse. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised when I got it! First of all, it arrived within 5 days of ordering it...and I live on the East Coast. The leather craftmanship is pretty sturdy...well-stitched which offers a snug fit for the Tablet. The main reason I selected the Vipertek was for the velcro stand. My brother has a case for his Ipad that has only the two grooves which doesn't offer much versatility or stability...it would easily come out of the grooves and fall flat. I could adjust my tab to any angle I want depending on how I'm sitting, lying down or standing. For aesthetics, IMHO, the black looks better than the white one. The white looks too white and would probably get dirty quickly since you'll be handling it all the time. I like the magnets that hold it closed...even though common sense says magnets and electonics don't go well together but I haven't experienced any adverse effects to the Tablet yet. The openings all fit very well for the rear camera/speakers/buttons/headphone jack/power jack. The cutout for the front camera is off-centered by about 2mm so when you're using the camera, a small portion of the bottom of your screen is darker because the case opening is up against the lens bottom. Not a big deal...I've only had it for 3 days...as I handle it more maybe the leather will relax a little because there is some play at the top which if it does relax, the opening will be perfect. Also, like all the other cases, you can't charge the Tablet with the case closed...the front cover has to be opened to gain acccess to the power port. A reservation I had with the case before buying was the leather that wrapped around the screen...I was afraid it would be too close to the touch screen edges limiting my ability to hit the home/back buttons or tabs in my browser. But not to fear, since there's about 2mm of space past the edges, the screen is fully accessible. One more thing...the case adds about 2x the thickness to the Tablet. I don't consider that a minus though. The Tablet is super thin by itself and I always worry about it slipping out of my hand. With this case on, you have a better grip and the thickness also better protects in case you do drop it by mistake. The case corners extend abouty 2-3mm past the Tablet edges so if you drop it on a corner, I think it will save you from a cracked screen. Upon opening the package the aroma of fine leather filled the air. The feel and texture of the pebble grain leather feels very nice in your hands. The color of the pebble grain leather is even and the sheen is matt which is great and it will absorb a light instead of reflecting it back towards you. The stitching of the leather pieces are spot on. The exposed cutouts & edges of the leather has been sealed and they have done a very good job at sealing them. It also looks like they sealed the edges around the bezel of the screen and the frame for extra protection, also the edges around the cut out for the front and rear cameras plus the volume and power buttons, plus the speakers. Installing my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 into the case was as simple as putting a piece of paper in an envelope. The only change I could recommend is that they re cut the front cameras opening. I feel that would be aesthetically pleasing if the cutout were a square rather than the teardrop shape. I also feel that this could be done to the rear camera as well. The felt inside lining of the cover is very nice. The velcro type feet on the bottom of the screen allow you to position the screen at multiple angles not just 3 or 4 like other cases. At first I was concerned that the velcro would cause the felt lining to fray and peel like a sweater. Fortunately, after a week of use, I have not experienced any wear to the felt lining. As a matter of fact after a week of use this leather case looks brand new. I see no scuffs, abrasions or tears. The few areas which I thought were scuffs, were only dirt and grime. They simply wiped away with a damp micro-fiber cloth. I conclude that this case is awesome. I foresee it lasting years to come. Oh, BTW, it still has that rich aroma of leather. I drove with it mounted over the area that I travel the most frequently so I feel confident in my assessment. This item is really well built and I am happy with my purchase. The suction holder is strong and I have no doubt that it will hold to the glass of my windshield without falling. It held the tablet weight with no problems and was easily adjustable to any angle and orientation. The one tightening knob on the back of the holder is easy to loosen and tighten. It even looks good in my opinion. The Vehicle Dock (pictured on page 5 of the user manual) is also strong and designed to hold the tablet well. I am also confident that it will not fall out of the Dock. There is a charging adaptor on one end that connects to the tablet and will charge it while it's connected to the Dock and the Dock is connected to a cig lighter adaptor provided with purchase. I was concerned that the item would be oversized in order to hold the tablet and would be so big that I wouldn't want it on the dash. This is not the case at all. It is barely noticeable for what it does. I can't think of how it could be any smaller and still hold the tablet as well. So why did I give it only 4 stars and the almost perfect title? It's due to the design of the attachment of the Vehicle Dock to the Suction Holder. The Dock attaches to the Holder by four "peg hooks" on the center of the Holder that enter the Dock in the rear. Once the hooks are in the Dock, you then slide the Dock downward (of course this is assuming you have the Dock oriented vertically with the charging port on the bottom) to secure it to the Holder. Sounds great right? The problem is that it never locks in place. This is both good and not-so-good. It's good in that you can easily remove the Dock from the Holder to use the Tablet. It's not so good in that when I was driving over Railroad tracks, it shook loose and dropped the tablet onto my steering wheel. It may be important to some to know that I had the tablet oriented horizontally but to me, this should not matter. This morning, I used it again but tilted the Dock very slightly to the right. When I went over the same tracks there was no problem. I may have pressed the Dock a little harder into the Holder knowing that there might be an issue but it was not a conscious effort if I did. The other reason I didn't give it the last (fifth) star is because of the shake/bounce factor. The tablet will bounce violently if you have any issue at all with your tires or if the road is in any way bumpy. I really can't see a way to avoid this without resting the tablet on the dash even though it is in the Dock. In fact, this might even cause the Holder to lose suction having no way to disperse the shaking produced by the road or your tires. In the end, I love how this unit works as a Navigation system and displays an actual picture of the road and buildings as I drive vs. a drawn map. The traffic overlay and silent rerouting when I don't take the route that the tablet wants me to take are all exactly how I like a Navigation system to work. Be sure you have enough real estate on your dash for this unit with the tablet inserted. You may have to mount it to the left side of your windshield instead of the center so you can see the road. I would definitely not recommend mounting it under the rear view mirror as you won't be able to see a very important area of the road. *****AMMENDED REVIEW****** I was remounting the Dock on the Holder and pushed a little harder than I had the first few times. This apparently is how hard you're supposed to push because it snapped in place. Some of the reasons you bought the Galaxy Tab were its size and elegant design. I think it makes sense to protect it with something that exhibits similar traits. It adds little in terms of size or weight. The exterior is nicely stitched leather and I like that there are not loose threads or "sharp edges". It has the appearance of a very well made case. The flap that acts as the base when you are using this as an easel and also covers the LCD screen when the case is closed is both padded and rigid. While I don't expect this thing to stop a bullet and still protect the screen it seems like it will do about as well as anything. This review is from: Acase Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 P7500 High Quality Premium Slim Leather Case Folio with built-in Stand for Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi Only (Black) (Electronics) i was initially bummed that there wasn't an apple smartcover-like cover for my galaxy tab 10.1. i ordered the acase folio sight-unseen because it looked like the most functional among the limited choices available. it arrived today and i truly think it is better than the smartcover. for one, it covers the front and the back of the tablet yet is still very compact when closed. the three different viewing angles are perfect for any situation, unlike the smartcover's too-shallow 30-degree angle (it can also do 60 degrees but that makes it prone to tipping over when pressing near the top of the ipad). all four corners of the galaxy tab are protected and the folio looks very nice and feels good. my ONLY gripe is that you can't charge the galaxy tab with the case closed because there is no cutout for it. the cover snaps shut to prevent accidental openings. for less than $20, i don't think there is a better case available. highly recommended. Although the "grooved" design is a nice feature, unfortunately it has the unwanted side effect of catching dust and dirt easily within its grooves and i wish whoever designed it had noticed such "pesky" details; That is why i gave it a 4-star review instead of 5-star. Once installed, the case looks almost part of unit itself, offering much better handling and gripping, not to mention the fact of all that extra protection from shock. I like the fact you can detach the cable and use it to sync and charge on you computer, laptop, etc. I haven't tried using this to charge other usb devices so I cannot comment on weather it works for other devices. My only issue is that the cable is not that long, so it may not reach if you use a window mount for your device and the power outlet is in the center console or low on your dash. It's more expensive than the ones you can find on ebay, but some people don't trust these for their devices. Came apart on 1st use!
