This review is from: ArmorSuit MilitaryShield - Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Screen Protector Shield with Lifetime Replacements (Electronics)
When I received this screen protector, it turned out very different than the one I had bought for my ipod. My ipod one was self-adhesive and once you place it, if you do it well, you end up with a screen that is as tough as the ipod screen. It is hard to the touch. This armor shield, on the other hand, involves a wet application and the screen has a rubbery feel. It is a little soft and can become indented if you press it with your fingernail. It has flexibility so it can basicly fix its own scratches all by itself. Or so claims the company that produces it. It has a few advantages over the dry application screens. For once, spraying the screen with solution helps clear all bubbles out. It is much easier to push water from under the screen than air. It was, therefore, very easy to apply. I followed the instructions carefully on the youtube video on their website. The screen is made about 1 and half milimiter less in lenght on the longest side. The short side seems to be exact fit. In the video they ask you to stretch it a little to make it fit, but I decided not to do it, because I did not want to over-stretch it which would be worse. Finally, after pushing all the solution out, you need to let it rest for 12-24 hours and not to turn it on during this time, as it needs to dry. I waited 24 hours. The screen looked without any bubbles underneath, but I noticed a straight line running from the top of the screen to the bottom, right in the middle. It is a line that I did not see while applying it and I have not caused either, because I had not bent it in any way. It makes a rainbow pattern where the line is, and is just so visible to me , that it annoys me. This is why I give this 3 stars. For the money, I think there shouldn't be hassles like w,this. Now I will see if I will get used to this line in the screen protector or end up buying a new one. If it wasn't for this line I would have given 5 stars.

Edit: The seller Yesavenue offered me a replacement, and since they stand behind the products that they sell, I am bringing the stars to 5. :)

Update: I waited the two weeks requested by the seller for that line to disappear but it didn't, so it was definitely not caused by liquid or bubble. Anyway, the new one I received from them was applied without any problems, and now it finally looks great. When applying those screen be careful not to turn on the galaxy tab by chance as the liquid is not a good mix with the electronics of the touch screen. I did this as I was drying the edges and had hard time turning it off as it couldn't recognize my touch initially. Thankfully, no damage was done and it does not seem to be affected by this.

ArmorSuit MilitaryShield - #1 screen protector for the price & quality!

This review is from: ArmorSuit MilitaryShield - Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Screen Protector Shield with Lifetime Replacements (Electronics)
I have just gotten this in the mail yesterday, and applied it last night. Everything worked out perfectly! When you first apply it, there might me VERY tiny bubbles under the protector, BUT these will go away overnight as the shield dries(I was worried they would stay there). The shield is ultra clear, and has a stretchy/flexible film so this protect the screen, and covers any scratches! Instructions were clear and easy, and the website shows you instructional videos on applying the screens. GET THIS IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A GREAT SCREEN PROTECTOR! It is more than half the price of other brands like "Zagg" and you get a lifetime warranty for replacements!!! I ordered from "YesAvenue" and let me tell you... BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE DEALT WITH. I am leaving on a cruise tomorrow, and I told them the situation, and they upgraded my shipping speed FREE! Quick response, and formal reply. Hope this review helped:)

Follow the directions on the package

The ArmorSuite is as good as others report here. I like the bit of friction it adds to the Galaxy surface. This is helpful for my old fingers in that I can more easily and precisely use the touch feature. The satin-slick Gorilla glass was for me like an icy sidewalk in winter. It also helps when holding the tablet.

You can skip the rest of the review. But I would like to add to the instructions for applying the film for those new to it. I have used similar films before (eg, from BestSkinsEver.com) and the steps and precautions are the same.

tl;dr version. Avoid dust. Clean everything and work with wet fingers, wet film, and (carefully) a wet glass. The film is horrendously sticky and must be made completely wet before first placing it down. Don't rush. Think ahead about exactly what you will do before making the next step. It is a chore to do it right but it's worth it.

The film is extraordinary sticky. You absolutely must use the liquid to wet your fingers, the film (both sides), and the glass. The instructions warn you not to get the "device wet," but you can carefully spritz a little on without getting it into the openings.

It's important to know that the film is exactly the size of the glass. If you have a tiny gap on one edge the film will stick over the opposite side. Placement is critical (but more below if you goof up as I did).

STEPS

1. Find a place that has good lighting that is relatively dust free. The lighting needs to be such that you can view the tablet surface horizontally. IOW, a white wall or window opposite at the same level as the tablet. You need this acute angel (as opposed to perpendicular) to see the edge of the film in relation to the tablet's glass. When the film is on the black bezel its edge is practically invisible from above and you won't be able to position it properly. A glancing angle is absolutely necessary.

2. Obviously, turn OFF the Galaxy tab: complete power off -- not just standby. Turn off any fans, the air conditioner and anything else that could raise dust. No watchcats allowed in the room!

3. Wash your hands and fingers well with soapy water. No dust, no grease, nothing that will get trapped under the film. If it's there, you will see it against those tiny pixels forevermore.

4. Get all items ready and arranged in a convenient place: the tablet, maybe a mouse pad to hold it in place from sliding, the film, the spray, the cleaner cloth and the applicator. With the film still on the backing, go through the motions of putting it on the tablet surface. Be sure you have enough room for your elbows and enough area for all the items. Note where the cutout for the camera is and be clear in your mind how this goes on the glass. Don't wait until you just stuck the film down and discover you've got it upside down! Play the game in you mind before going on the field.

5. Use the cleaning cloth to completely clean the tablet surface of all fingerprints and dust. Look at the glass at the glancing angle mentioned above. IOW, your sight line almost parallel to the surface with a bright wall reflecting off it. Any dust will stand out at this angle. I use a squirt of the wetting solution with the cloth to clean it thoroughly and get rid of the dust. I also used a bright white LED flashlight shined horizontally across the surface. The tiniest dust particle stands out. Remove the last bits with the damp cloth. From this point on, you will not touch the surface again with your fingers (until after the film is on).

6. Now to the difficult part. The film is hideously sticky. If it TOUCHES the dry glass it will stick and cannot be moved. The ONLY way you can manipulate into position is if both the GLASS and the FILM are WET. So now lets get wet.

7. Spray some solution on the back (non-sticky side) of the film (still attached to the backing). I think this is necessary as the film absorbs water and this starts the wetting process.

8. Spray your fingers -- BOTH hands -- the thumb, index, and middle finger. Slippery, slippery, slippery.

9. Carefully spray a little solution on the center of the glass. Smear it over the entire glass surface with you wet fingers. Warning -- if a tiny bit of dry film touches a dry spot on the glass, it will stick. You absolutely cannot slide or move the film thereafter. Trying to slide it will cause it to stretch, which will cause optical imperfections that are essentially permanent. You goofed -- too bad. Tol' ya.

9. At this point the film back, the glass, and your fingers are slippery wet. If they're not, make it so. It's time to separate the film from the backing and spray it very, very well. This is the step you cannot get sloppy about. Notice where the camera cutout is in relation to the tablet and how you are going to place it.

10. With positioning in mind, pick up a corner with your slippery fingers and peel off at least a few inches of the film. Spray the sticky side. Be careful that the film does not curl back and stick to itself. Be slow. Continue peeling the film off the backing until it's free. Keep it wet especially if it seems to curl on to itself. When full removed make sure both sides are wet.

11. In front of you are: a film, wet on both sides, a wet glass, and wet fingers holding the film away from the rest of the universe. Stop and consider how you will make first contact. Think of the film as yourself alone in the desert and the glass as an alien from another planet -- you cannot undo a misstep made this moment. For first contact a suggestion is to line up the top edge (or bottom, as you prefer) of the film with the glass edge. Both surfaces are of course very wet, if I forgot to mention is. Gently line up the edge and put the film down. DO NOT PRESS yet. Be sure the top edge of the film aligns with the glass -- and also the corners are lined up. If not, gently lift and reposition. It it sloppy wet enough you can slide the film. The first moment you put pressure, the solution will squeeze out and the film will STICK. Of course, if the film/glass is dry then it's too late to change anything.

12. After you are absolutely sure that the top edge and corners are perfectly aligned, touch the center at the top. This is like hammering the first and permanent nail. Then very gently slide a wet fingertip from the top center to one corner, then again from the top center to the opposite corner. The film is now attached along the top edge. You have completed a crucial step.

13. Unroll or otherwise lay the film on the glass in a downward direction. The film should be essentially floating on the water while you do this. No pressing!

14. The entire film is now in position with the top edge gently fastened and the center and other edges still not attached. There will probably be bubbles under the film. No problem. Use your fingers, or better, the black applicator, to squeegee the bubbles out. It's very important that you start with a bubble in the center and work it toward the nearest unfastened edge. If you start with a bubble near an edge and squeegee it out the edge, you will seal that edge in the process and bubbles behind it are trapped. So, start near the center and move the bubble(s) toward an edge, collecting all other bubbles along the path.

15. All the hard work is now behind you. With all or most of the bubbles out, use the applicator to fasten the film against the glass. Sweep it from the center to the edges. Don't use too much force; you might scratch it or stretch the film and that can leave a rather permanent stretch mark. I folded the cleaning cloth over the applicator's edge to soften it. Think of this process as painting the tablet with a wide brush.

16. When you're done there may still be a few water and air bubbles still trapped. Don't worry. The film is porous and both the water and air will diffuse out in a day or so. Do not try to force a trapped bubble out. You might damage the film. And of course it will completely disappear in 24-48 hours anyway.

17. The instructions say let it sit about a day before using, which I followed. Mine had about three trapped air bubbles and one water (solution) bubble. Except for one air bubble they were gone in 18 hours. The last one disappeared after another day. I think the reasoning for not using is that the film is water-soaked and a bit "weak" in that it may be vulnerable to being marked or scratched.

If you don't like the ArmorSuit, or do an unsatisfactory application job, it will peel off. I have a decommissioned 4 year-old old cell phone that has a similar film. I peeled the skin (film) off with no problem and the surface is like new. The peeled skin was too stretched to reapply.

Alignment Goof. I didn't realize the film was exactly glass sized -- thinking it had a eighth inch gap or so. Furthermore I got a case that clamps the sides and top corners. The clamps pushed the film up off the glass. Solution: I used a box cutter and straightedge to trim about a quarter inch all around.

I've had mine for a few week so far with 5-8 hours/day use and no damage. I really like it. Firm tactile grip and easier to touch without sliding. The Gorilla Glass itself is very hard and is not likely to get scratched, but if something sharp or hard does contact it the film will cushion it.

Solid product
This product is exactly what I was looking for: something to provide a little more protection for my $600 "toy".

Watch videos and read instructions.

Great Product
This cover for my GalTab is perfect- takes a few weeks till all the air bubbles are out- but then it protects and keeps the screen nice and safe. Would recommend 100%.

Very good, but not perfect
Great quality screen protector. The dimensions could improve. Width is 1/8" too short and front camera opening almost misses the 7/8" wide opening for the lens.

Lifetime replacements?!
I'm really happy with the screen protector so far, it was easy to install, but it did take almost a week for the bubbles to finally dissipate.

Galaxy Tab 10.1 Screen saver
I am satisfied with the material. Instructions are lengthy but perhaps fine for others. Camera hole is not in the center but it works fine. Center hole will look better.
